Practice Your Reflexes in a Safe Digital Range

HowFast.live recreates the feel of a target range with nothing more than your browser. Choose a drill, focus on the moving target, and watch every impact register instantly. The room, lighting, weapon, and targets are rendered with WebGL so you get smooth feedback without installing software or sharing personal information.

Instant Feedback

Bullet marks stay on the target so you can study groupings and see how your precision improves across sessions.

Built for Repeatability

Use the same timer options and range layout on any device to benchmark reflexes over time or compete with friends.

The entire experience runs in your browser; we do not require accounts, logins, or invasive permissions to get started.

How to Play

  1. Select a drill length (10, 30, or 60 seconds) based on how intense you want the session to be.
  2. Click or tap Start Game. Desktop players will enter pointer lock mode, hiding the cursor so you can focus on the sight picture.
  3. Track the crosshair and shoot the highlighted target as fast and accurately as possible.
  4. When the timer ends, review your score. Bullet holes remain on the target so you can study accuracy patterns.

Each direct hit is worth one point. Misses still create audio feedback so you can adjust your rhythm on the fly.

Sound effects are stored locally in the browser and only play on your device. Press Esc on desktop to exit pointer lock at any time.

Practice Modes & Progression Tips

10 Second Dash

Great for warming up. Focus on perfect accuracy and staying relaxed during rapid fire.

30 Second Standard

Our most popular mode. Balance burst speed with consistency to keep the score climbing.

60 Second Endurance

Train stamina. Maintain focus through the full minute to avoid the drop-off that comes with fatigue.

Challenge Yourself

Log your best scores, note your peak accuracy, and revisit the same mode weekly to monitor improvement.

Score Tracking & Personal Benchmarks

Because HowFast.live does not create accounts, score tracking is up to you. We encourage players to keep a simple log. Here are ranges that many community members use as a starting point:

Getting Started

5–10 hits in 30 seconds means you are landing the majority of attempts. Focus on smoothing out your aim.

Consistent Performer

11–16 hits shows strong rhythm. Try the 60 second drill and see if you can maintain form for the full minute.

Speed Specialist

17+ hits at 30 seconds puts you in elite company. Challenge friends or track weekly performance improvements.

Tip: take screenshots of the final score card or jot results in any note-taking app to compare later sessions.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this a realistic firearm simulator?

No. HowFast.live is an arcade-style reflex trainer intended for entertainment. It does not simulate recoil, weapon handling, or safety procedures.

What devices are supported?

The experience is optimised for modern desktop browsers with WebGL enabled. Phones and tablets work too, though performance varies by device.

Why do I need to allow pointer lock on desktop?

Pointer lock hides the cursor and allows smooth camera control. Press Esc at any time to release the pointer and pause.

Can I mute or reduce the sound effects?

Yes. Lower your system volume or mute the tab. All sounds are processed locally and never transmitted to our servers.

How can I report a bug or suggest a new feature?

Email the team at howfast.live@outlook.com with as much detail as possible (browser, device, screenshot).
